Happily Newly Wed Couple

Some how they knew that they were destined to be together. Even when times were tough, people were telling them to be with other people and when struggles arose, they knew to stick together to each other like glue.

This is more than just a story of two people. This is more than a story of a single family. The story we tell each other of the past and the present represent an encapsulated version of what we strive to be.

Their story begins over 60 years ago, in the minefield of young love, finding yourself and finding another person while trying to become who you want to be. This sounds like some Hollywood film (maybe it should be Kevin Feige or Edgar Wright I’m looking out for an email) but it’s the life of two very complex people trying to live simply their best life.

To me, when I hear them talk about years ago, I see within their pupils a world and galaxy places beyond what I know but through their perception gain an understanding of who they really are. Sure, they danced, they had a very prestigious life. That is what they did and not who they are.

Most recent photo of them years before Covid-19

To a stranger, their life might be something that is a captivating footnote in a cosmic timeline, but to me their stories and their kindness that they have shared with me directly and indirectly helped shape me to who I am today. This most recent epidemic has brought me closer to them than what I have known before and I’m thankful for this.

Time together builds a bond no diamond can break apart. I hope in the future to be able to share their stories with you in the coming weeks, but for now I celebrate in their union, a collection of heroes more talented than the Justice League and Avengers combined.
